In 2024, Activrep's scouting unit identified Luciano Asevedo, a young Argentine second row. The work began well before any destination was defined: first contact with the player, discussions with his family, and a trip to Mendoza to understand his situation, environment and project. At the same time, RCT was working on identifying young, high-potential players to strengthen its medium-term project. It would take almost two years for these two paths to meet.
Identifying potential early does not guarantee an immediate opportunity. For a young Argentine second row still little known to European recruiters, credibility on the market had to be built progressively, opportunities assessed as they appeared, and decisions not rushed simply because a door opened. The challenge was therefore as much about identification as about the ability to sustain the process over time.
Activrep identified Luciano in 2024 and began building a relationship with the player and his family, including through discussions in Mendoza. His profile was then assessed and progressively positioned across different international markets. Several possibilities were explored, notably in the UK and France, without leading immediately to a decision. Activrep kept following the player and positioning him until an opportunity better suited to his trajectory appeared. The process eventually led to an agreement with RCT for the 2026/27 season.
Luciano Asevedo joins RCT for the 2026/27 season, marking a new stage in his career as he enters the Top 14 environment. This arrival comes almost two years after his initial identification by Activrep.
Identifying early creates a possibility. Sustaining the assessment, the relationship and the positioning over time makes it possible to turn that possibility into reality when the right project appears.
